CONTEMPORARY CASH

UX/UI Design   .   7th bachelor semester

What could be a new way to present finances?  It can be difficult for people to relate to the fluctuating value of digital currencies. Therefore, this semester I wanted to find a new way to visualize digital currencies. After experimenting with different visualization options, I decided to adopt the European concept of symbolic architectural landmarks for the visualization.

The result is an augmented reality (AR) application that serves as a wallet for digital currencies. Instead of traditional numerical representations, users are confronted with a virtual building that changes according to exchange rates. Spheres indicating fluctuations in value cascade along the structure, providing a tangible representation of today's currency dynamics.

User Story

"I want an app that gives me an easy introduction to cryptocurrencies – something understandable, motivating, and without making me feel like I need to be a financial expert."

Nina, 29, works as a project manager at a start-up and is interested in technology and modern finance. She wants to keep track of her finances without being overwhelmed by complicated data or discouraged by boring designs. A playful platform with visual elements like growing buildings motivates her and makes the topic more accessible. For Nina, aesthetics, ease of use, and a quick overview of the market are equally important.
